Went down to the potters ground did all the mourning I could stand when i arrived guess who I saw Jeremy Fisher and his band said to me, take up my drum and hop on in the caravan we went rolling around the bend to shake the dust right of this land our grief shoes, we wore them out, we wore them out oh those knots, they’ve come untied, we’ve come untied from my travels to the sights we saw there’s one thing that i learned it’s to never go to the potters ground undeterred and unconcerned we may go to the known and unknown just to return to what we’ve yearned do not grieve for the lost just hold dear to those you've burned

a heart that’s somber and stone makes like a house not a home but you were like water on wood to reveal all that was good with mice under floor boards and ghosts in the hallways memories of a time long ago with cobwebs in the windows and weeds in the garden a chance to reveal what was good well maybe the baby had cried in the cradle we both slept beside although the wind blows in the deep the wind chimes they sing us to sleep

Don’t tell me where you’re going Tell me where you’ve been Doesn’t mean much to me until we meet again I won’t remember much of you Won’t even know your name I’m sorry for this false charade and the baklava parade I offer you this shovel And I’ll help dig up the ground We’ll throw all my ignorance and fair-weathers down so lay me down the ground is greater then death
bury now the ground is much greater than death Winter came and went Snow gave way to spring the peacefullness that moves when the meadowlark sings the county fair never rolled in we're miles apart oh who cares I don't know where I'm going I don't know where I've been How could I meet you if I've never met me

Underneath the water the waterwheel turns spreading forth from the river to the beds we were led down the garden path to the allure of the flowery display the rhubarb donned her finest dress to court the eligible sprouts the dancing was tempting, perfume filled the air it's no place for a man like me to be I was bound to pick an eggplant from another garden bed when i failed to hear the farmer say: "today you'll feel alive but tomorrow you'll be dead when the fruits of desire rot away" A slender build in a floral gown with her leafy hair flowing caught all the boys throughout the yard her dress laid low, the look I stole the dog below is hard to time we long to be honey bees swarming free free from the honey bear who lusts for the sting the tree limbs raise the roof in admiration of something I'm not quite sure of love what you have then what you don't

Flying Canoe 02:49
Let us whisper our lost hellos and mumble of a thousand half loves connections that flicker like lightning bugs at dawn that we franticly jar to hold fast and praise may we lay in the sun like tea and tobacco leaves the hope we release is something to behold perpetually half empty or consistently half full pour out, pour in until whole whatever comes, let it come, whatever goes, let it go! constantly chasing that we cannot reach just to turn around to find the race had come full circle like the lonely lumberman in the Canadian north woods who sold their souls to see the lovers on their minds we set out in our flying canoe when we came crashing down, we regretted every word we sang there’s no beginning dear and certainly no end the thoughts that go comes back again and again and again

alone in a tin can with the poor I came knocking at your door with no song to bear and no rhyme to sing A note a beat on a scale composed in fragile detail drawn to the staff among space and lines We’re eroded strings and alder wood strained for the common good as we strum along, reverberate in syncopation hold me close through the night with all your love and all your might if this is wrong, don’t turn me right two pennies on the rail as the train came down the trail we were crushed to one a gypsy came to gather us up to trade in the market for luck unique in form for some, wasted coin for most placed in a pocket with holes to fall out behind and roll how does it feel to lose? the comfort of never knowing

about

Lowly, The Tree Ghost Cleveland, Ohio

A band of hopefuls, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. An element of something much greater than itself, like a branch distinct among branches in every which way it could be. Stretching forth its limbs for the chance to reach a hopeful ear, they are the leaf that falls on the dew covered ground striking the unstruck sounds. ... more
